St Helen’s Road , one way road closure from Monday 8th January for 10 weeks

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SWANSEA
PROPOSED TEMPORARY ONE WAY ROAD CLOSURE FROM MONDAY 18TH JANUARY 2018 FOR 10 WEEKS

B4290 ST HELENS ROAD (PART)
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City and County of Swansea in
pursuance of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)
intend to make an Order. The effects of such Order are as shown in the Schedules
below. The temporary one way road closure and associated restrictions are required
in order for Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas mains replacement works.
SCHEDULE 1- TEMPORARY ONE WAY ROAD CLOSURE
B4290 ST HELENS ROAD (PART), SANDFIELDS
B4290 St Helens Road in a south-westerly direction from its junction with Richardson
Street to its junction with Brynymor Road/Beach Street, a distance of approximately
330 metres.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of B4290 St
Helens Road, Oxford Street and Beach Street, a distance of approximately 770
metres.
SCHEDULE 2- TEMPORARY ONE WAY ROAD CLOSURE & RIGHT TURN
RESTRICTION
RICHARDSON STREET
No right turn into Richardson Street/B4290 St Helens Road from Oxford Street.
SCHEDULE 3- TEMPORARY NO LEFT TURN RESTRICTION
ARGYLE STREET
No left turn from Argyle Street to B4290 St Helens Road.
SCHEDULE 4 – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
BRUNSWICK STREET & HENRIETTA STREET
No exit from Brunswick Street and Henrietta Street onto B4290 St Helens Road
SCHEDULE 5 – TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTION
B4290 ST HELENS ROAD (PART), SANDFIELDS
Southside prohibition of parking in a north-easterly direction from the junction with
Brynymor Road/Beach Street to the junction with Argyle Street, a distance of 220
metres.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians to be maintained at all times.
The maximum duration of the order is 18 months and it is anticipated the work will take
10 weeks to complete, effective from 8th January 2018.
